Rainy loneliness

It had been raining for the last week. The temperature had dropped by about 3'C I guessed. The weather just makes everything moves slowly.

Yesterday, had coffeeat Shaw House, taking a break, reading some papers, making some notes and watching busy lunch time Orchard from the side alone. After lunch, shopped in Pacific Plaza alone before meeting friends.

Returned early to avoid jams and crowds. Took a nap, dinner, TV, sleep. Really wished I wasn't alone yesterday. If only someone's to spend these slow days with me.

Argh... These rainy weathers' making me feel lonely and chummy! Where's my partner when I need one!

Big Black Spotted Talking Catfish!

Last week, all my fishes were packed and moved to Desmond's house. They will be kept with Desmond until I return. One of the rare times to remove my spotted Talking catfish out of water. Look at how big they've grown now.

This fat ass can barely fit into the 1.5" pipe to hide now.

His big belly is bigger than a 20cent coin.

Look at this blur pic when I just got the 3 of them. They were hiding in the same 1.5" pipe then.

GongShang Primary School, 6/2 (1994) Christmas Party 2005

It Christmas once again and as usual, my primary school mates will gather and everyone gets to catch up and network. This year, we have a chalet at changi and the turn out's pretty good. The chalet is sponsored by our Primary 6 form teacher, Mr Chua Kwan Heng. Thanks!

Here's some pictures:

The 3 funny guys, Sze Kei, Vincent and Yongda. Vincent and Yongda are very close friends since kindergarten. Their moms know each other too!

This is Wanyu, she's our "elected" domestic helper and always cook for us during BBQs and chalet. We had nicknamed her "Maria". lol...

After BBQ dinner, Mr Chua made us play some Ice Breaking Games and he started preaching to us... Sian... After preaching, he made us sing carols... double sian... you can see that off their face. Stephanie sitting down with her hands on her cheeks, Zhen Jin in white and Yongda behind. All so sian...

After the carolling, Mr Chua and family and friends left. Left with the few of us lor. We had planned for a Xmas present exchange. We had a "presentation ceremony". Commander Dave presenting Xmas present to Private Jeffery here.

Jeffery got a T-shirt from me!

Sze Kei bought something for Yenhao. Vicent starts his picture whoring! I had know both Yenhao and Vincent since primary1 ! We were in the same class straight from Primary 1 to 6!

Yenhao got a waistpouch and he's holding it up like a Wrestling Champion.

(sorry guys, I can't load all my photos in 1 post, no choice got to split them into 3 parts.)

GongShang Xmas Party - Part 2

YongDa bought something for Stephanie. Vincent the photowhore got to get his cheeky face in. Oh, by the way, Yongda and Vincent are both "Pedigree 2s" just like me! We were in the same class from 1.2 to 2.2 to 3.2 to 4.2 to 5.2 and 6.2! Yes! Incredible! More than half of our class stayed in the same .2 class from primary 1 to primary 6. Maybe that's why we're still so close even after such long time.

Yongda got a Pen from Stephanie! Smile wider leh! Disappointed meh?

Yongda bought something for Soon How. Yes, Soon How, another "Pedigree 2", his name is Derrick but I remember Casey changed it into "Gatorade" because he cant pronouce Derrick. Gatorade was just launched then and it was the "hippest" drink around. To carry a reused Gatorade bottle as water bottle to school was so happening to innocent kids like us.

Derrick gets to buy something for the pretty Stephanie! Heh! If I don't remember wrongly, Derrick got a serious crush on Stephanie back in primary 6. LOL!

Sze Kei bought something for Wanyu. Photo whore Vincent in the center! Sze Kei's from Hong Kong. He joined us in primary 5. When he first came, he can only speak cantonese with little chinese. Sze Kei is a very funny guy whom never fails to make people around him end up with cramps from laughing.

Mr Chua bought something for Sze Kei, but he left earlier and didn't do the presentation. Anyway, Sze Kei got this toiletries bag from Mr Chua. A very practical and thoughful one! Vincent! Still trying to photowhore behind! Act blur with his chocolate!

Someone bougt a Addidas shoe bag for Derrick!

It's my turn to recieve my Xmas present. Yenhao's my Santa and he "proposed" to me with the nicely wrapped present. I'm shy and surprised! aww~~~!! So paiseh leh~! Vincent the photowhore trying to act cute here! Before I missed it, Yenhao's a "predigree 2" too!

GSPS Xmas Party 2005 - 3

I recieved a little angel for display from Yenhao! heh... I was supposed to looked surprised and touched for recieving such a cute present. I like the box, it's nice!

Its time now for Vincent the photo whore to present his Xmas present. He's supposed to be buying something for doreen. Suddenly the usually noisy and cheerful Vincent turn quiet and uneasy. What's wrong? Anyway, they posed for a presentation photo.

What!? Doreen recieve a tube of Sensodyne toothpaste from Vincent! LOL! No wonder he seem uneasy just now. Maybe he thought Doreen ought to improve on her Oral Hygiene. And Vincent's excuse was... "eh? I thought the present should be under $10? So I bought something practical and easy to wrap la!" Wah Lau eh! Vincent!!! We agreed to spend minimum $10 for the present right?! argh! Just to add, Doreen is another "Pedigree 2". She's also our class monitor from primary 1 all the way to primary 6. She's still "our monitor" now as she's always the organiser of all our outings and gatherings! Thanks Doreen for going the extra mile for everyone!

And look at what Vincent got? A big ball of branded chocolates! Vincent, you're damn lucky leh!

Group photo! GongShang Primary 6/2 1994

Wah Lau Vincent!! NEOW LEH!!!

OK ok! Another photo in case the first didn't turn out well.

Indian treats at Little India.

6th December 2005 (Backdated post)
It was my first day of work at SLS. Nothing much to do. So, by the time I knock off, I'm still quite fresh. Annan called me just when I knock off and told me he's comming to SLS to pick up his iPod Video and a Sony digital camera. Brought him to Fatass MengHui's shop and Annan got his stuff with a huge discount. A white 60GB iPod Video and a powerful Sony Digital camera that looks like a grenade launcher with 12X optical zoom. The gadgets were ultra cool and he got both together. What an A.S.K.!

In return for me getting him such good discount (a few hundreds off the listed price), he brought me over to little india for some indian dinner. He brought me to his favourite resturant, a Vegetarian indian resturant.

Madras New Woodlands Resturant. An Indian resturant situated in the heart of little india, serves only vegetarian dishes.

Here's the menu. Everything looks alien to me. Told Annand I'm super hungry, just fill me up and please get me some deserts after the meal. Annand asked for the waiter over. Chatter with him in indian for a while and the waiter left. Soon, the thosai's were up and we started eating. Eaten half way and I remember I've got to take pics for my blog.

That's what I had. A thosai with curry, potatoe and veggies inside. Its crispy at the edge and soft in the centre. The sauce and gravy served together make it superlicious. I like the Chick Peas in curry too. Annand ordered another thosai for me. I forgot what is it, its a super crispy thosai filled with ghee.(not pictured because they taste so good and they're gone before I remember to take pics) This oily thosai is super crispy with cheesey flavour all over it. Imagine a Cheese prata which is thin, fragrant and crispy. Shiok but evil as ghee is 100% fat.

And you got to check out their special drink. The Lassi. We ordered a Mango Lassi, in the end, Noraini was hogging it to herself because its simply good!
This a super, thick Mango drink. It's a slurry of mango pulp, juice and alot of sugar. The pair of throtters behind are Noraini's. Super shiok to drink on a hot sweaty afternoon after some workout.

And the deserts for the day. I'm sorry I don't remember their names but these stuff are superb. Ultra sweet! A bit too sweet for me. I'll try to explain them to you based on my observations with my poor language.

This is a crispy cookie soaked in syrup. Its sweet, crispy and fragrant. It looks oily, but it don't taste so. The sweetness is just nice, I like.

This is a milky cookie. Its sweet and have a thick milky flavour. Imagine Rabbit brand milk candy concentrated. Its crunchy but too sweet for me. A little bit is enough.

This looks like a preserved longan but its a dough ball soaked in super thick sugar syrup. It is so soaked that syrup is oozing out everytime your spoon makes contact with the ball. Tastes just sweet, the sweetness just overwhelms everything you tongue feels. (basically the sweetest thing I had ever tasted)

This dinner had been an eye opener for me. Didn't knew indians have such sweet tooth until this experience. Really nice resturant with really friendly waiters and great service. Thanks Annand for the dinner and Wikipdia for the links explaining ghee and lassi.
