Day 2, met up with Eve at Dept of Civil Engineering to do registration in school and lunch at school's canteen.

After lunch, set off to Taipei Police HQ to register ourselves. Police HQ is at 西门。Reach there on MRT. As I step out, a big grey building stands on my left. On closer look, its PARTYWORLD 钱柜!It had the whole building mostly to itself! 13 level building with 10 floors to KTV! WOO HOO!!
Registered ourselves in the police station, the queue's quite long and the form is fully in chinese. But lucky, I'm not so poor! Managed to fill up the forms myself with some effort. The queue moves damn sloooow... but suddenly the queue starts flying, on checking the clock, its 4.45... hmm... something's wrong with the system here eh? the staff damn lethagic then 15 minutes before knock off, they just chop chop finish everything... anyway, that's non of my business, I'm cleared before 5 and out we are!

Across the street is 西门町,of course must cross over to join the happenings la! But as we're crossing, saw something special...

A yellow WRX Wagon Cab... the taxi uncles here are mad leh!

西门町,the famous walking street shopping district. Happening! very very happening! youths walking around in trendy and fashionable winter wear. Streets filled with neon lights, rows and rows and rows of shops selling everything from disposable underwear to fur jackets! Game arcade, alot! But I dunnoe why the hippiest game in arcades here is throw basketballs and "UFO catcher" Other than fashion outlets, game arcades, food stalls, I also notice there's quite a few Tattoo palours around. Saw some of their picture display, quite impressive. But no, I'm no slave nor pig to be tattooed.
Winds blowing cold, so turn in to buy a cup of warm milk tea... sweet, warm, nice!

Walked around awhile and I notice this big black truck calling out for me... on closer inspection, ITS A HUMMER! HUMMER H3 (although not as power as the H2 la but this is the first real Hummer I saw! cool!)

Decided to settle down for dinner. Roam into a shop selling "蚵仔煎 " I ordered "鲁肉饭" and shared "罗卜糕" and "蚵仔煎 " with them.
蚵仔煎 is nice, but i prefer it without the sweet sauce. 罗卜糕 is nice! unlike singaporean "chopped up then fry" style, its "deep fried whole piece and chopped later" here and served with a sweet and saulty sauce over it. Although different methods of preparation, but still nice! The best thing is the 鲁肉饭! POWER! Shiok until concuss ah!!! Dunnoe how to say, but super super ultra mana shiok!!

After dinner, grabbed some drinks by the stall. I got a warm starfruit juice, Jingyi got a warm Sourplum. In the end, we tried, both taste similar lor... warm, sour, sweet, salty... Just that the starfruit got extra starfruit flavour. nothing fantastic...

Walked around more and did some shopping, bought a pair of track pants and some toe socks for sleeping. As the night gets darker, the streets just get more lively, more street hawkers display their stuff and more vain and trendy youths walking around in groups.

Time to return back to hostel, walked to the MRT station for our return trip. Near the station, a very catchy tune caught us. Followed the music and found a "原住民" (aborigines) group playing by the station. They are so immersed in their music and are enjoying themselves! They seem to be enjoying themselves more than basking! really admire their spirit!

A night shot of the Partyworld building!

Another shot of 西门町 as we're leaving... We'll be back!
