Oops... sorry I hadn't blogged for a long time. Been meeting taiwanese friends and going hiking. And for the last week, my family visited me for 1 week and I brought them around taipei. Really enjoyed myself with them. My family rocks!

淡水MRT station. The building got this european colony feeling because Taiwan used to be a colony by europeans long ago and they left alot behind after they left. 淡水 is one of the sites where most of these artifects are concentrated because of its strategic position in naval defence of the island. 淡水 is also known for its fishing ports and scenic views of the river banks. I love the scenic view of this laid back town. Really beautiful and peaceful. A nice place to bring your loved one to for a short, quiet and romantic getaway.

My 1st point when I reached. loosely translated as little white house, it is not related to that one in USA in anyway. This used to be where the european customs officer live and work when they were here. Nothing much there, just a beautiful white building and a view to kill.

Next stop, a fort left behind by the Qing government. This is a Chinese fort with 4 cannons designed by a German engineer. Sadly, the cannons are looted and what's left is the empty fort with some rock carvings.

Next stop, 红毛城 loosely translated as "red hair city" a place where foreign ambassadors used to live in taiwan under Past Governments.

Is this where Ang Mohs used to shit?

GuanYin Mountains on the opposite bank. From this view, you can see GuanYin's face from the left as if she is lying on the river.

The Tea Garden where Ang Moh used to enjoy their high tea session...

Next up, 淡水 fishing port, this used to be the biggest fishing port in Taiwan, but now it is developed into a tourist attraction with few fishing vessels still stopping by. There's baskers, seafood resturants, more eateries and the Beautiful Valentine's Bridge.

Just enjoy the pictures...

Beautiful isn't it? This is a really romantic place to bring your loved ones to.

While leaving, we saw some newbie singer is holding a free concert by the bridge.

The next morning, we went on a hiking trip onto one of the peaks of 笔架山- Pen Stand mountains. It's 700m high and took us about 3 hours to reach the peak.
